Gumroad – SciFi Weapon Design in Blender – REMASTERED
September 17, 2026
Description
This remastered course teaches hard surface modeling in Blender by creating two science fiction weapons from scratch. You’ll learn to block out models, apply hard surface techniques for clean composition, manage materials, and render final images—all within Blender. The instruction covers boolean and bevel techniques, shading error cleanup, topology fixes, subdivision surface workflows, lighting, and composition. The course assumes you’re comfortable with basic Blender tools like scaling, extruding, and moving, though advanced knowledge isn’t required.
The workflow begins by establishing correct proportions using reference photos to ensure functional design elements like triggers, barrels, and grips are properly positioned. You’ll then progress through creating visual aesthetics using booleans and modifiers while addressing common modeling problems as they arise. A key focus is combining subdivision surface modifiers, booleans, and bevels without shading artifacts or mesh distortions. The instruction emphasizes efficient rendering techniques designed to produce quality results in minutes rather than hours, using proper material settings, HDRI lighting, reflectors, and camera angles.
The remastered content includes additional environment modeling tutorials and bonus editing guidance in Photoshop to enhance portfolio presentations. One weapon project incorporates paid addons like Hard Ops, Boxcutter, Decal Machine, and Kit Ops 2, while the second uses vanilla Blender tools. If you’re completely new to Blender or hard surface modeling, the instructors recommend starting with their SciFi Crate Design course instead.
