September 19, 2026

Description

This 27-hour video course teaches professional techniques for creating destroyed assets in game environments. Instructor Emiel Sleegers, a lead environment artist with over 13 years of AAA industry experience (including work on Forza Horizon 3 and The Division 2), covers asset planning, modular modeling, destruction simulation, and level assembly. The curriculum spans techniques for creating destroyed concrete and pillars, wood and flooring damage, rubble piles, and debris effects.

The course uses 3DS Max for modeling with bonus chapters for Maya and Blender, ZBrush for sculpting, Substance Painter and Designer for texturing and masking, and Unreal Engine 5 for scene setup. Photoshop and DaVinci Resolve are also utilized. All textures are provided, though texture creation itself is not covered. The 72 videos are organized into logical chapters with numerical naming for easy navigation.

This tutorial is designed for artists with existing familiarity in 3D modeling, texturing, and game engines. Instruction happens in real time—showing how professionals handle roadblocks and solve problems on deadline—rather than following pre-scripted steps. Most techniques are universal and transferable across different software. Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese.
