Universal Human Collection
Overview
The Universal Human Collection offers a comprehensive set of customizable rigged models, base meshes, and textures for Blender. The collection includes body rigs, face rigs, and component systems that can be combined and modified to create diverse human characters. Key features include gender and race morphing, age controls for scaling characters from infant to adult, and separate modular components such as the Musculoskeletal System with articulated muscles, tendons, and bones that append to existing rigs for dynamic deformation.
The textures are hand-painted and sculpted, with specialized sets for skin, head, arms, eyes, and teeth. Supporting materials include Cycles shaders for skin, teeth and tongue, eyes, and makeup components. The rigging system allows flexible control, with options to switch fingers to forward kinematics independently of the arms while maintaining arm inverse kinematics. UV mapping across six UDIM tiles provides expanded texture space, and landmark templates assist with texture and hair placement.
Individual components can be used standalone or mixed together—such as pairing Male or Female Base Meshes with the gender-neutral Body Rig, or combining multiple race-specific Head Base Meshes. Qualifying owners of separate components receive free upgrades to pre-assembled combined rigs. The system also includes tear lines in base meshes and corresponding shaders, age and baby teeth shape keys, and detailed descriptions of rig controls and shader nodes accessible directly in the Blender viewport.
