MCprep is a Blender Python addon designed to streamline the process of creating Minecraft renders and animations. After importing a Minecraft world into Blender using tools like jmc2obj or Mineways, MCprep enables you to enhance materials, import animated mob rigs, and replace flat exported models with detailed 3D blocks. The addon automatically optimizes materials for both Eevee and Cycles rendering engines, fixing transparency issues, shadows, and texture quality with a single button press.

The addon includes built-in mob rigs for creatures like creepers and wolves, with options to install custom rigs or load from custom folders. You can swap player skins from image files or download your own player skin directly within the addon, with frequently used skins stored for quick access. MCprep also replaces plain 2D block models with animated 3D versions—such as swaying grass, wheat, vines, and redstone lamps—to add visual detail to your scenes.

Additional features include resource pack swapping with support for PBR passes, normal maps, specular maps, and SEUS-compatible shaders. The addon works with both Blender’s internal and Cycles render engines, making it possible to achieve high-quality, realistic Minecraft visualizations with minimal manual setup.
