OctaneRender for Blender Addon 2026.3 – 31.8
Overview
OctaneRender for Blender Addon 2026.3 – 31.8 is a rendering plugin that integrates OTOY’s OctaneRender engine directly into Blender 5.1.2. The addon provides two startup scene templates—Direct Lighting and Path Tracing—to help users begin rendering projects immediately. Installation is straightforward: extract the Octane Addon Server, launch Blender, and install the addon through the Preferences menu.
This release includes several bug fixes and improvements over previous versions. Updates address frame numbering issues in exported scenes, Classic Pass result fetching during animation rendering, crashes when switching render engines, and Color Ramp message bus crashes during real-time preview. The addon now supports a default radius for point clouds when the radius attribute is unavailable. Users can also convert existing scenes from non-addon versions of OctaneBlender using the File > Export menu option.
For users encountering issues, the addon supports debug logging through Blender’s debug mode. A blender_debug_log.cmd file can be launched to capture diagnostic information, which helps developers investigate problems. When reporting bugs, users should include hardware specifications, a clear description of the issue, reproduction steps, and ideally blend files and screenshots for direct testing.
